Why We Love It...
Blessed with 92 POINTS from Decanter’s prestigious World Wine Awards, the world's most rigorous and comprehensive blind tasting competition led by Master's of Wine and Master Sommeliers – this simply delicious, rich, toasty, creamy citrus fruit infused, toasted almond, ginseng, and freshly baked brioche elixir is fresh, lovely, balanced, and just fantastic all the way to the last bubble.
Tucked away between the two major cities of Champagne – Reims and Epernay, Chigny-les-Roses is a charming little village making some absolutely stellar Champagne. The town is nested right in the vineyards, standing against a cliff shelf, topped by the region’s verdant green forest. It’s a sight to see, for certain. A number of well-known producers have chosen this quaint village as their base, including Jay Z’s Armand de Brignac (aka Ace of Spades) and the Lasalle family. This beauty is a blend of 45% pinot noir, 45% pinot meunier, and 10% chardonnay – and this half bottle sure packs a punch!
The cuvée is fermented in stainless steel, with no malolactic secondary fermentation before aging on the lees (in bottle) for a minimum of three years prior to disgorgement. A dosage of 8 grams/liter is made with the reserve wine and a natural beet sugar and perfectly balances the bright, flinty acidity with the rich, toasty notes. Stock up while you can on these ½ bottle beauties – you just never know when you’ll have a Champagne emergency!
