Same family, same winemaking style, for hundreds less. This is quite vinous, so skip the flutes and break out the burgundy bowls here. Exotic and sumptuously flavored – this is a beautiful wine to have with dinner…date night, done right!
Champagne Charlier et Fils is situated in the Grand Est region, with roots back to 1892. Founded by the legend himself, Armand Perrin, this estate has passed down from father to son and mother to daughter for over a century – uniting the Charlier and Perrin families forever in the process. Their underground cellar goes back a couple hundred years, and these grower-producers do it all on-site – farming, harvesting, pressing, vinification, aging, and bottling.
Their vineyard is spread out over 41 separate plots, on 5 different hillsides, planted to 20% chardonnay, 11% pinot noir, and 69% of their personal favorite, pinot meunier. The plots all enjoy a warm southern exposure, ensuring ripe fruit and full flavors. This cuvée is comprised of equal parts of Champagne’s big three grapes, all from the 2015 harvest. Seven years on the lees grants the wine weight and an autolytic style – creamy and golden-hued with a perfect dash of oxidation – all in the effort to showcase a big, voluptuous bubbly that retains balance and freshness through its well-placed acidity, and its saline and mineral finish.
Notes of golden apples, umeboshi, with lime zest, white grapefruit, juniper berry, and golden raspberries. This is warm and spicy from start to finish, with a tension that holds the wine into a long and encapsulating finish. We don’t have much, sadly, but for those that strike fast – this is a steal at over 50% off!

About the Producer
In 1892, Armand Perrin launched this brand. It's a partnership between the Charlier and Perrin Family. They are located on the right bank of Marne Valley in the village of Montigny-sous-Châtillon. Seeing that the Perrin famiy makes their own barrels, all the wines are vinified in large oak casks. Their vineyard is spread out over 41 plots, on 5 hillsides comprised of 69% Pinot Menunier, 20% Chardonnay and 11% Pinot Noir. In 1992, Carole Charlier and Yves Perrin, took over the estate and have become representives of the brand as it is today.READ MORE...
